I write stories that consider kinship with non-human animals, materiality, and image-text intersections. I am an Assistant Professor in the English Department at Mount Mary University, where I teach composition and creative writing. My pedagogy explores crafting, play, and accessibility through universal design. My current projects include editing a collection on how personal art practices sustain writing teachers and an image-text memoir about the intersection of human & animal families. My creative writing studies have taken me to the MFA program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the Clarion West Writers Workshop, and the Sewanee Writers’ Conference.
